IASTA Young Scientist Award
The IASTA Young Scientist Award aims to recognize original, innovative and exceptional research contributions in the field of aerosol science and technology by early-career researchers in India. The award promotes high-quality research, encourages scientific excellence, and fosters the development of new ideas. By honouring emerging researchers, it seeks to amplify their impact and inspire continued innovation within the aerosol research community.
Award Rules:
- Selection Process-
The IASTA Young Scientist Award Committee reviews all eligible submissions and conducts an initial screening process. Shortlisted candidates are evaluated based on the originality and novelty of their work, scientific rigor and methodology, relevance and potential impact, and the quality of presentation, including clarity and communication. Based on the committee’s recommendation, the final selection is made by an Award Jury appointed by the IASTA Executive Committee. The award for the year 2025 will be granted during the AAC-2025.
- Eligibility Criteria-
Applicants must be active IASTA members and under 35 years of age as of December 31, 2025. The award is open to researchers from academia, national laboratories, research institutes, or industry. Submissions should reflect original scientific work offering novel insights or advancements in aerosol science.
- Nomination Dossier-
The nomination package must be submitted by nominator as a single PDF file, containing the following four documents in the specified order:
- Cover Page – Complete the cover page of the nomination and submit it with the complete nomination packet.
- Letter from the Nominator – A nomination should be submitted by an individual well-acquainted with the nominee’s scientific or technical contributions. This letter should reflect the nominator’s direct knowledge of the nominee’s work and provide clear evidence of outstanding scientific and/or engineering contributions to aerosol science.
- Supporting Letters -Include three letters of support from individuals familiar with the nominee’s work—such as supervisors or peers—highlighting the nominee’s significant scientific and/or engineering contributions to aerosol science.
- Curriculum Vitae or Job Description and Publications- Include a CV or job description appropriate to the nominee’s position, along with a list of notable publications that demonstrate the nominee’s scientific achievements.
